Walking Trail PIAC

Based on feedback from conversations with KC Parks and Rec, I've gone through the process of submitting a separate public improvement request (PIAC) for the addition of a walking trail to the park.  The specific wording of the request is as follows:
The residents of the Highland View neighborhood would like to see improvements made to Highland View Park.  Included in these improvements would be a paved walking trail.  This request is for the design and construction of a walking trail with consideration for lighting, park benches and trash receptacles along the trail.
At this time, I did not include specifics as to the proposed route of the trail.  I can tell you, however, that the most logical route appears to run from East to West along 85th Terrace.  It would ideally wander along the tree line, occasionally ducking under the cover of the trees.  A full loop around the park appears to be less likely due to security concerns caused by the secluded nature of the trail.  Of course, this is all very premature, and any discussion of plans at this point would be speculative at best.

If you have any comments or thoughts on how a walking trail would fit best in Highland View Park, be sure to let me know.  I will do my best to relay any and all input from residents to KC Parks & Rec.

Also, though I don't have a date or time at this point, be on the lookout for a community / public meeting sometime after Labor Day.  We're hoping to be at a point by then to bring everyone together to talk about the Highland View Park project.  We will need a meeting place for this meeting.  If you have access to a place close to the neighborhood that we could use, please let me know.  Thanks!
